Case-rated systems are used for testing or Burn-in/Life-Test of components and small assemblies that are designed for mounting on a heatsink. These are typically high power dissipation products.
Case-rated test and Burn-in systems replace the heatsink by a temperature controlled plate to remove dissipation and accurately control the product case temperature. Temperatures can be controlled over a wide range of temperatures, and can be designed for rapid temperature changes where it is necessary to minimise transition times between test temperatures, or to subject the product to thermal stress.
Systems are available to test individual components or production volumes. Dynamic systems subject the products to typical electrical operating conditions, and Dynamic/Monitored systems also collect and analyse measurements during the test process.
